A417 Missing Link - Road Closures

Dear Stakeholders and Residents

We will have a full closure on the A417 starting 11 April for 4 shifts between 21:00 and 06:00 – please see below for information

Crickley Hill Full Closure

When: Tuesday 11 April – Friday 14 April 2023 – 4 shifts

Time: 21:00pm – 06:00am

Where: A46 Brockworth to Air Balloon Roundabout

Why: Barrier Inspection, Surveys and Ground Investigations

Diversion

A46-A40-A436The Gloucester County Council closure on Charlton Hill (A435) to repair the land slip is currently out day and night until the end of the September 2023 inclusive of weekends and sends traffic down the A436, A417 and A46. For four nights, starting on Tuesday 11 April, between the hours of 2100 and 0600, we will be altering the existing diversion to send traffic on the A436 and A40 via Andoversford and closing the A417 between A46/Brockworth and the Air Balloon roundabout.

We have agreed with Gloucester County Council to use the extended diversion as Charlton Hill (A435) is currently not safe for traffic. Please note - this route is only for closures required while Gloucester County Council’s, Charlton Hill Land Slip closure is installed ending September 2023.

Cirencester Road GL3 4TX

When: Tuesday 11 April – Friday 14 April 2023

Time: 07:00am – 17:00pm

Where: Cirencester Road

Why: to provide safe access and egress for site traffic

TM: Traffic signals to control the traffic to allow plant to manoeuvre at location. Operative controlled and operational when needed to allow plant into and out of site entrance.

Cowley End of A417

When: Thursday 13 April – One night

Time: 20:00pm – 06:00am

Where: A417 Cowley end of scheme

Why: Vehicle Restraint System inspection and topographical survey

TM: Lane 2 closure only on the north and southbound carriageways. Once finished in central reserve, we will remove Traffic Management and reinstall lane 1 closure at same location. Traffic will be able to proceed in the remaining open lane - no diversion needed and through roads to villages open.

Please note that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
